The Turner Ave. Quintet has found an interesting niche in the world of jazz on Cape Cod. Comprised of five students, the group has risen to significant notoriety by remaining dedicated to reviving the music of great jazz artists. After five years together, the sounds of Jobim, Parker Hancock, and Davis have molded into unique brand of jazz that still sticks to its roots. TAQ (pronounced like the corkboard fastener by loyal listeners) has surprisingly wide and varied experience in the industry; from small jazz clubs to opening for the Boston Pops, they have performed at most venues in the area. The band is, as proven, perfect for any occasion. Weddings and parties are lacking without a light jazz background; meanwhile, restaurants and clubs featuring TAQ are guaranteed to draw a crowd.
